Here are some tips to help you prepare for your shoot!

Our guide is a useful tool to help you prepare for your

SDS Media Solutions photoshoot!

General Interior

Lightbulbs

Replace any burnt out bulbs, please try and match the bulb temperatures with like bulbs. Turn Lights on

Cords / Plugs / Devices

Unplug / remove and or tuck away any excess cords, usb chargers, lamp cords, remotes, that may be a destraction.

Windows / Doors

Open blinds, clean any windows and/or doors that need a touch up to remove dust, debris or fingerprints.

Ceiling Fans

Turn off  fans for the duration of the shoot. If we are capturing video we will turn them on during the video shoot.

Pets

Remove or hide any dog or cat beds, chew toys, litter boxes, and cat towers.

Staging

Add touches of color, throw pillows, and maybe some fresh fruit or flowers to dress up your space.

General Exterior

Vehicles

Remove any vehicles from driveway and garage.

Pool / Hot tub

Clean pool / hot tub and clear of any debris, remove automatic cleaning equipment if any and open pool umbrellas.

Windows / Doors

Open blinds, clean any windows and/or doors that need a touch up to remove dust, debris or fingerprints.

Patio / Balcony

Arrange any furniture, furniture cushions, remove grill covers, sweep or use a blower to remove any leaves, limbs and any other debris.

Garbage / Recycle Cans

Tuck away cans for the duration of the shoot.

Windows / Doors

A mowed lawn can make a difference. Clear flower bed of debris and add fresh mulch / pine straw.

Kitchen

Refrigerator

Declutter any excess magnets, papers, pictures

Countertops

Keep them clear, less is more in the kitchen, remove any items to declutter counter tops.

Dishes / Food / Towels

Remove dished or food from sink and or countertop. Including dish racks and hand towels.

Trash Bins

Remove or hide any trash bins or recycling, tuck them away in pantry, under cabinets or place in garage.

Tables / Chairs

Tidy up dining table and chairs. You can even set the table with clean plates for additional decor.

Cabinets

Arrange decor, clear away any clutter, and give it a fresh dusting.

Bathrooms

Towels

Replace previously used towels with fresh ones. Minimize how many towels are visible.

Toilet Paper

If toilet paper is visible, please put a fresh roll on the dispenser.

Rugs / Bath Mats

Remove rugs / bathmats to help show more of the flooring.

Trash Bins

Clear countertops. Remove lotion bottles, toothbrushes, medications, and other personal supplies. 

Bedrooms

Beds

Make all beds, straighten pillows, put on a flat sheet or bed skirt to hide any items under the bed.

Nightstands

Declutter items on nightstands, check any bulbs on lamps.

Clothes

Remove or hide any clothes or laundry baskets that may be visible in the photographs.

Toys / Games

Remove and hide toys. Place them in a toy box, closet, or under the bed. If there are still toys seen, organize them to the best of your ability.
